Vimercati has developed (and still is developing) a wide range of steering wheel controls and speed selectors (SeleSpeed). The latter include a series of electronic and mechanical technologies which make them some of the most complex pieces inside a car.

These products are highly reliable as far as technical features (operating forces, travel, positivity) and ergonomic design are concerned.

Specific designs, conceived to meet the needs of clients, are obtained through the detailed analysis of mathematical characteristics of each individual component.

A qualified know-how is used for symbol backlighting. It results from computer simulations and step-by-step setup, by means of 3CCD-chamber measurement systems.

Also control electronics is fully developed in-house, from hardware to routing.

RADIO CONTROLS

Multi-function (6 or 8) modules for radio, web navigation and telephone control switches on steering wheel. Specific esthetics results from overprinting or painting of symbols, and painting of the module. Symbols are backlighted for day lighting effect.

Signal switching is obtained by means of  biscuits punched in a silicone carpet.

The kit includes: right module [3 or 4 buttons], left module [3 or 4 buttons], cable connector.

Modules are fit on steering wheels by means of plastic clips.

AUTOMATIC GEAR SELECTORS

Lever switches placed behind the steering wheel spokes for automatic gear selection. Esthetic design and steering wheel fitting vary according to car models.

Symbols are overprinted.

Switches are backlighted for day lighting effect by means of custom light pipes fit in levers and based on studies on optical paths.
