Founded in 1947 as Company for fine mechanical finishing, O.M.V. Srl (Officine Meccaniche Vimercati) starts from the early ’50s to enter the automotive market with the production of lamp-holders for FIAT dashboards.
Since the ’60s, the Company increased its know-how and its skills in the automotive market so far as to taking the first steps to the international markets over the next decade.
Between the ’80s and ’90s VIMERCATI S.p.A. acquired and consolidated the partnersheep with PSA, BMW, GM and Renault, keeping at the same time its presence in the domestic market with FIAT. Once set in this international context, the sales volume growed-up significantly: to meet this important growth, the Company opened in 2007 a new production plant in Bacau (Romania), which reached in few years around 500 employees.
In November 2011, the research for a corporate partner able to support the business growth through specific industrial synergies, turned into a partnership with the Indian Group Viney Corporation Ltd which later led to the complete Company takeover at beginning of 2015.
Today VIMERCATI is strongly present in the global automotive market as OEM supplier with a wide range of products. Over the years the company made “mechatronics” as his main area of competence.
