We are proud to announce that VIMERCATI has signed the acquisition of PROGIND, a sixty year family company, leader in the manufacturing of plastic and sheet metal molds.

AD MAIORA SEMPER!

Vimercati visited the 88° Salon de L’Auto in Geneva which shows once again the encounter between passion and innovation.

Encounter as meeting between the both expression of Automotive today, but also as contrast between the old school made by engines classified by the quantity of horsepower and the total indifference to the mechanics inspite of driving aid systems or simply entertainment modules.

You might see the Bugatti Chiron Supersport as well as the brand new Zonda Barchetta, and few steps away the small EV concept cars, oriented to the driverless philosophy.

And beside the twin-turbocharged V8 engine of the Koenigsegg Regera (which is however part of a hybrid powertrain) you might see the queue of people who want to enter the cockpit of the Polo to see if it interfaces with the latest smartphone ...

In addition to the interiors’ features such as almost complete touch dashboard’s panels (the concept seen on the Audi A8 is now cascaded to the A6 as well) we recognized that a hybrid or EV vehicle rather than a prologue of the autonomous drive can be found in quite each OEM’s stand.

If the both tendencies will be brought as a mass production and will jeopardize (or, better, change) the actual panorama is not yet known, but Vimercati is surely engaged especially in the hybrid and EV field, as charge modules and buttons installed as a user interface to interact with the charge system will be spreaded in the next years.

Stay tuned for the next Autoshow!

Not even a year has passed since, in January 2017, Vimercati started a self-financed innovation project, to anticipate what will be some of the trends in the Automotive market with a view to meeting the needs of end customers, who are increasingly smart and connected .
This involves the development of modules with touch and capacitive technologies which, as already seen on some car prototypes and also some series models, seem to be destined for wider use in the coming years.

Here are the first images of the products, installed on a steering wheel that will be the support for discovering the future, which is already here.

IAA2017 more than the other motorshows is a pointbreak where “car-guys” can see how the automotive trend is doing and where is going.
As seen last year in the Paris Autoshow, it's becoming more and more popular to forget about the engine(s) and focus on the cockpit, entertainment system and to answer to the question "does this car mirror my apps"?
That's why you can see almost all hoods closed  (I was pointed like an alien while picturing the signature on the top of the brand new S65 AMG engine!) and people spending minutes sitting and playing with switches inside.
Oh, I said switches, but have a look at all these vehicles to be prepared for the future:
Range Rover Velar shows steering wheel capacitive pads to recognize the fingers position (but you still have to push to confirm).
Audi A8 while even the hazard button has its touch version.
VW Polo, even the newest B-segment from Wolfsburg has the virtual cockpit and the all-touch mutimedia system![/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type="image_grid" images="724,725,726,727,728" css=".vc_custom_1507891099642{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}" el_class="newsImgGallery"][vc_column_text]…and will not jump to deep in the concepts from Daimler, the EQ and the MaybachSix with its door panels' integrated touch display for seats functions control, as those are still a design exercise (even if closer to reality, today much more than yesterday).
Ok, switches are still there, and carmakers are running to get out the finest quality and perceived feeling (even with some imperfections from whose pricelist is not that cheap..see the baby Jag E-Pace) but we had an introduction to the future, for the first time on series models.

This is why Vimercati started to innovate.
Be ready….and stay tuned!

Vimercati was awarded by Nissan with a certificate of merit for the excellent quality performance sustained in FY2016 (among 45 selected suppliers, the only Italian one).

In the picture: Riccardo Marra and Filippo Comelli collect the certificate immortalizing the moment with Mrs. Judith Richardson (VP Purchasing Nissan Europe) and Mr. James Moss (VP Total Customer Satisfaction Nissan Europe).

It is an opportunity that makes us proud once again for the activities we carry out every day with commitment and enthusiasm.
